Jacnique’s Rise In Love Deluxe EP Builds On The Vocalist’s Remarkable Success
Jacnique is a brilliant, triple award-winning vocalist who fits into her own musical category. Her sensuous singing is haunting, alluring and enticing. She believes in the words she writes and sings, and her performances cross over to many genres, attracting audiences from Jazz, R&B, Dance Music and Classic Soul. On her recent deluxe and memorable EP Rise In Love, Jacnique is in superb form, fearlessly getting across her messages without compromising her ideals, and making the experience quite fun and exciting for listeners. Rise In Love features six new songs by Jacnique (whose name is pronounced Zsa’nique). A poignant and poetic songwriter with a real talent for matching words with music, Jacnique’s music discusses universal topics in a fresh and offbeat manner.
“Rise In Love” is a joyful piece that is both rhythmic and happy. Jacnique’s singing is playful, jazzy, and very inviting. One cannot help dancing to this gem, or to the magical and energetic “Press Play”. Few vocalists can say “oooooh” with the passion and sincerity of Jacnique. Her voice sounds absolutely beautiful on the catchy “Sunrise” and her wide range only adds to her irresistibility.
Just listen to Jacnique’s high notes during the ballad “Audio Portrait,” which has some very expressive wordless vocalizing along with memorable lyrics. This performance will cause many hearts to melt. “Zero To One Hundred” bristles with soulful urgency, passion and desire. Rise In Love concludes with “One Love,” a classic love song in which Jacnique’s voice is very much in the spotlight.
It was obvious from near the beginning of Jacnique’s life that she was going to be a magnetic performer. She began singing when she was five, amazing her family. She performed as a teenager with the girl group Ynturaj, an important experience that led to her starting her solo career. Jacnique performed in many nightclubs in the San Francisco Bay area alongside jazz guitarist Tony DeWayne, building up her audience and repertoire. Soon she was performing in a variety of venues in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, making her mark and growing in power.
It was only a matter of time before Jacnique documented her own music, making it widely available far beyond San Francisco. She started her own independent record label & music publishing company, SirenFire Music Works LLC and SirenFire Music Publishing LLC, major steps in solidifying her successes and building towards the future. Even her most devoted fans were surprised at the rapid success that she achieved.
Jacnique’s debut recording, Trial By Fire, a memorable mixture of dance grooves, very original lyrics, love songs, and powerful performances that perfectly showcased Jacnique’s unforgettable voice, was considered a sensation as soon as it was released. In 2011, Trial By Fire not only won the Los Angeles Music Award for Producer’s Choice “Jazz Album Of The Year” but Jacnique won a pair of Black Music Awards for "Best Neo-Soul Artist" and "Best Urban Soul Artist." Few artists have started out their recording career at such a high level, but few have written and performed such fresh and memorable originals as “Toy Box,” “Believe In Love,” “The Reason,” “Be Still” and “Feeling You”.
One expects that of Jacnique. Her beautiful voice and music are full of passion, even when she is singing at a quiet volume. While expressing ideas and emotions that are very much of the 21st century, she has a magical quality that makes everything she sings seem timeless.
